What this does: Walks you through creating your own account on the Trakref API documentation portal so you can view our API documentation. Access is self-service — you register yourself, and no one at Trakref needs to create the account for you.
Before you start: Have your work email address handy — you will need to open a confirmation message sent to it. Registering gives you access to view the API documentation; it does not, on its own, enable running or testing live API calls.
Accessing Trakref API Documentation
Step 1. Open the API documentation portal. In your browser, go to https://apidocs.trakref.com/
Step 2. Select Sign up. You can use either the Sign up link in the top-right navigation or the Sign up button in the middle of the page.

Step 3. Complete the sign-up form. Fill in every required field, then submit the form:
- Email — use your work email address. This becomes your login, and the confirmation message is sent here.
- Password and Confirm password — choose a password and enter it twice.
- First name and Last name — your name as you would like it to appear on the account.
- I'm not a robot — select this verification check before submitting.
Complete the sign-up form using your work email address.
Step 4. Confirm your email address. After you sign up, you will receive an email asking you to activate your account. It contains a link that finalizes your setup — open the email and select that link.
Important: You must select the confirmation link before you can sign in. Not clicking it is the most common reason a brand-new account cannot log in.

Step 5. Sign in and open the documentation. Once your email is verified, sign in to the portal and select Explore APIs. The APIs page lists the available Trakref API documentation — select an API to open it.

Troubleshooting
- “I signed up but I can’t log in.” In almost every case the confirmation link has not been selected yet. Go back to the confirmation email, select the link to finish setting up your account, then try signing in again.
- “I never received the activation email.” The message is sent from an automated Azure address (it ends in windowsazure.com) and mentions the trakrefprod API program, so it is often filtered — check your junk or spam folder first. Also confirm that the work email address you entered on the sign-up form was correct. If it still has not arrived, submit the sign-up form again.
- “Can I run or test API calls from the portal?” Not with registration alone. Signing up gives you access to view the API documentation; it does not by itself enable running or testing live API calls. Contact your Trakref representative if you need to make live calls.
- “Does someone at Trakref need to set up my account?” No. Sign-up is self-service — registering yourself at the portal is the intended path, so there is no need to request an account first.
