What this does: Creates a leak monitoring device (ALDS, MRLDS, etc) in a location’s inventory, then links it to the cooling appliance it monitors. You start a new inventory item, set the Inventory Type to Controls - Leak Monitoring Device, and configure the device.
Before you start: Log in to Trakref with an account that can create inventory, and make sure the location already exists. Field values shown in the screenshots are examples - enter the values for your own site and equipment.
Adding a Leak Monitoring Device
Step 1. Start a new inventory item. From the left menu, open Inventory for your location and click Create Inventory. On the Create Inventory page, open the Inventory Type dropdown.
Step 2. Set the Inventory Type. Select Controls - Leak Monitoring Device.

Step 3. Enter the item's basics. Enter a Name (for example, ALD RACK A), confirm the Location, and set Asset Status to Active.

Step 4. Add dates and open more fields. Enter the Acquisition Date and Install Date, then click View More Fields to reveal the device configuration fields.

Step 5. Set the Device type. Select Alternate Test Method, Concentration Monitor, Parametric Monitor or Self-Calibrating Monitor.
In the example - Concentration Monitor is selected.
Step 6. Choose the ALD type. In the ALD Type field, select Direct or Indirect.
In the example - Indirect (parametric) ALD is selected.
Step 7. Enter the alarm set point. Type the alarm threshold (example: 200).

Step 8. Enter the detection limit. Type the detection limit (example: 1000).

Step 9. Select the Concentration Monitor Type. Open the Sensor Type dropdown and choose the analyzer technology - for example, Infrared.
In the example - Distributed inlets with central analyzer and readout panel is selected.
Step 10. Select the sensor type. Select the appropriate drop down option.

Step 11. Enter the location on site. Describe where the analyzer is installed.

Step 12. Enter the manufacturer. Type the equipment manufacturer (example: Emerson).

Step 13. Enter the number of sensors. Type how many sensors or analyzers are installed (example: 4).

Step 14. Save the installed equipment. Click Save Installed to store the device.

Step 15. Open the device's inventory details. Click View Inventory Details to open the device you just created.

Step 16. Link the cooling appliance. Click Link Cooling Appliances to associate the monitor with the refrigeration system it protects.

Step 17. Select the linked appliance. Check the appliance to activate the link.

Step 18. Set it as the primary monitor. In the Monitor Status column, choose Primary Monitor for the device.

Step 19. Save the configuration. Click Save to finalize the leak monitoring device and its link.
Save the configuration.
Troubleshooting & tips
- Create the location first. A leak monitoring device is added to a location, so make sure the location exists before you add the device.
- Required fields. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed before Trakref will let you save.
- Always link and set Primary Monitor. Link the leak monitoring device to the cooling appliance it protects for accurate inspection due dates and reporting obligations.
