Features
New features introduced in V4
Service Events
- Redesigned Create Service Event workflow — The Create Service Event experience is rebuilt as a guided, multi-step wizard. It includes a new form shell with clearer steps and streamlined navigation, type-to-search inputs for Leak Location, Cause of Leak, Cylinder, Appliance, and Technician, button-style selects, a persistent System Details header across every step, and a pre-submission review page with required-field validation. Submitting now takes you straight to the work order page.

- Recent Leaks on equipment selection — Selecting equipment now surfaces that asset's recent leak history inline, so technicians have context before they log a new event.

- "Was Gas Transferred?" toggle — A new Verification-step toggle controls whether a gas transaction is required, with a unified Gas Transfer experience across all service event types.
- Site Shutdown service event type — A new service event type that records a shutdown across multiple systems at a site in a single event.

Trakref Mobile Experience
- Barcode Scanner — Mobile users can scan an equipment barcode to filter the Inventory table to the matching asset, and scan in the Equipment Worked On field to auto-select an appliance when creating a service event.

Analytics & Reporting
- Service-Based Scope 1 Refrigerant Emissions — A new sustainability report that quantifies Scope 1 refrigerant emissions from service activity.
Enhancements
Unless noted, all enhancements and bug fixes are specific to the Trakref V4 web application
Inventory
- Regional Admins (System Owners) can now add inventory — the Add Inventory action and the Save Installed button are available as expected.
Service Events
- Service Event tables now display the EPA Rolling Average Leak Rate, and the Service Event CSV export includes two EPA leak-rate columns.
- Recover Gas and Install Gas screens now display the asset's material type, and capacity includes the unit of measure for clarity.
Locations & Accounts
- Deactivate Location now supports historical deactivation dates.
- Locations Export now includes regulatory and geolocation fields (AQMD ID, EPA ID, Lat/Long, Operator Federal Tax ID), and Inventory Export now includes nameplate and leak-detection fields.
Compliance & Applicability Tagging
- Added the SCAQMD applicability tag across the Inventory Detail and Edit screens, the Inventory table, and the Compliance Center's Assets by Applicable Regulation view.
- EPA 608_S157 is now exposed in the UI as the default EPA 608 tag.
Trakref Mobile Applications
- Retired the legacy native mobile apps — removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The in-app message now directs technicians to the new mobile experience (the legacy apps are no longer supported after June 29, 2026).
- Updated the desktop breakpoint so that some laptops previously defaulting into the new mobile experience now load the full desktop view.
Bugs
Inventory
- Resolved several display and validation issues across inventory screens, including the "General Information" title clipping when the section was collapsed, Leak Monitoring Devices not saving, inverted dates in the Cylinder Reweigh History, an always-empty Notes column in Move/Recycle movement history, Retrofit assets rejecting today’s date as an install date, and asset edits overwriting Applicable Regulations. Cylinder edit errors now show specific details.
- Location permissions are now applied to the Move Cylinder and Send Cylinders to Recycling lists.
- Corrected cylinder transfer dates: the Cylinder Transfers tab now shows dates as MM/DD/YYYY with notes, and Cylinder-to-Cylinder transfers no longer auto-populate a past date.
Service Events
- Reverse Retrofit now restores assets to their pre-retrofit state, and the duplicate "Reverse Retrofit" button no longer appears after a work order is reopened.
- Reinstall no longer overwrites a completed asset’s Current Gas Weight with the charge capacity instead of the entered Verification value.
- Install Gas unit-conversion validation now works correctly when a user’s display-weight unit is not set.
- The Primary Technician dropdown now lists all eligible technicians.
- Retrofit gas-transaction validation no longer compares the wrong value or shows a blocking warning.
Service Providers
- Saving an edited Service Provider now returns Tenant Administrators to My Service Providers.
Analytics & Reporting
- The Location Registration report now hides disabled registrations instead of showing deleted data.
- The CARB R3 Data Supplement Region/Division filter now defaults to ALL California locations.
Compliance & Applicability Tagging
- The Compliance Center no longer goes blank when you select a bar in Assets by Applicable Regulation, and the bars now render in a stable order on each load.
Email Alerts
- Email alert links that contain a location ID no longer cause an infinite spinner after login.
Work Orders & Dashboard
- The Home page tooltip no longer references the old "Dashboard" name.
Security
- Regional Administrators can no longer access or move cylinders outside their assigned regions.
Trakref Mobile Experience
- When creating a cylinder in the mobile experience (progressive web app), the Serial Number field no longer stays required after a Tag Number is entered, duplicate Tag Numbers are rejected, and inline "This field is required" text now appears on all required fields.
